Mount of Death – Demonstration Position
In this drill, Uke (the training partner) begins lying flat on their back, with their hands positioned on their cheeks like the classic “Home Alone” pose. Tori (the person demonstrating the technique) then assumes a full mount position, sitting firmly on Uke’s belly. Tori's knees are placed on the ground, one on either side of Uke’s body, creating a stable and dominant position. This posture helps beginners understand control and pressure from the mount and introduces them to basic positional awareness in groundwork. It is often demonstrated in a playful or exaggerated way to help children visualise and remember the position.
