Stand in a more side-on position, with your lead foot (left for orthodox fighters) slightly forward and your rear foot angled outward. Your knees should be slightly bent, allowing for quick movements. Keep your lead hand low and ready for quick strikes, while your rear hand is positioned higher to protect your face.
2. Step Forward:
• Small Forward Step: Take a small, quick step forward with your lead foot, bringing you closer to your target. This step is crucial for closing the distance effectively in points fighting, where speed and precision are key.
• Maintain Balance: As you step forward, ensure that your weight remains balanced and centered, allowing you to execute the backfist with precision and speed.
3. Execute the Backfist:
• Quick Extension: From your low guard position, snap your lead hand forward to deliver a fast backfist strike. Aim for your opponent’s head or upper body, targeting an area that can score points in a match.
